Puffy, heavy, swollen, recovering from surgery, or navigating cancer care? Manual lymphatic drainage is a light, rhythmic technique that helps your body move fluid where it’s meant to go. Our certified lymphatic therapists in Westport and Stamford tailor every session to where you are right now.

WHAT IS LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE THERAPY?

Your lymphatic system is your body’s quiet fluid-management network. It collects excess fluid from your tissues, filters it through your lymph nodes, and returns it to circulation. It’s also a key part of how your immune system gets around. Unlike blood, lymph has no heart pumping it along. It relies on movement, breath, and the gentle squeeze of surrounding tissue.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) uses very light, skin-stretching strokes that follow your lymphatic pathways to encourage that flow. It’s far gentler than a typical massage, more of a soft, rhythmic glide than kneading. The research is strongest for lymphedema and post-surgical swelling, and many of our clients also tell us they leave feeling lighter, less puffy, and deeply calm.

lymphatic drainage therapy

Our signature full-body session for swelling, puffiness, or that heavy, sluggish feeling, or simply a deeply calming reset. Light, rhythmic strokes on dry skin (or over clothing, if you prefer).

prenatal + postpartum lymphatic drainage

Pregnancy can bring swollen ankles, feet, and hands, and the weeks after birth bring their own swelling and tenderness. These sessions are side-lying with supportive bolstering in pregnancy, and gentle, nurturing work postpartum, including C-section recovery once you’re at least two weeks out and cleared by your provider.

post-surgical lymphatic drainage therapy

Lymphatic work is a standard part of recovery after many cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, including liposuction, tummy tucks, breast surgery and more, and can also support recovery after orthopedic surgery. We follow your surgeon’s timeline and protocol, and most clients benefit from a series of sessions in the first few weeks.

oncology lymphatic drainage + lymphedema care

For clients during or after cancer treatment, including those managing or at risk for lymphedema. Our certified lymphedema therapists are trained in complete decongestive therapy and coordinate with your oncology team when needed. We’ll review your history together and customize every session.
