Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Indigo Wellness Group. Sarah holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Health Sciences and completed advanced training in Functional and Integrative Medicine through the New Medicine for Women Institute under Aviva Romm, MD. She practices clinically several days a week with a particular focus on fertility care, supporting patients trying to conceive naturally as well as those navigating IVF and IUI. Sarah takes a whole-person approach to fertility, looking at the full picture of a patient's health rather than treating fertility in isolation. Her own experience with high-risk pregnancies and a miscarriage has given her firsthand understanding of what many patients are navigating, and it shapes the depth of care she brings to fertility support.
Dr. Marcy Julius, D.A.C.M., L.Ac., Dipl.O.M.
Marcy's own experience with endometriosis and years of infertility shaped her focus on women's health and fertility care. She is board certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology through the NCBAHM and completed a year-long integrative medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, working alongside physicians across multiple hospital units. Her fertility work draws on acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, electroacupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion, built around each patient's individual treatment timeline. Marcy sees patients in both Stamford and Westport.
Sharon Sachakov, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.
Sharon is board certified by the NCBAHM and graduated at the top of her class from the University of Bridgeport, receiving the program's Director's Award. Her specialties include women's health and fertility alongside acute and chronic pain and anxiety. Sharon combines classic and modern acupuncture techniques and is focused on identifying the root cause behind each patient's symptoms rather than treating in isolation. Trying to conceive naturally For patients not yet in active fertility treatment, we look at overall health as the foundation for conception, including cycle regularity, hormone balance, stress load, sleep, digestion, and any underlying conditions that may be affecting fertility. This is often where we start with patients early in their journey, before IVF or IUI are on the table, or for those who prefer a natural approach first.
Undergoing fertility treatment For patients actively working with a reproductive endocrinologist, we coordinate our care around your clinic's protocol and timeline, including IVF and IUI cycle support, FET preparation, and pre- and post-transfer acupuncture. We communicate directly with your fertility clinic when helpful, so your acupuncture care and medical treatment are working together, not separately.

There's a reason fertility conversations can feel confusing: two different medical traditions are often describing the same territory in different words. Part of what we do well is speaking both fluently, so we can translate between them for you instead of leaving you to piece it together on your own.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we talk about yin and yang, Kidney essence, blood quality, and the strength of the Chong and Ren meridians, concepts that have described reproductive vitality for centuries. In modern reproductive medicine, that same territory shows up as hormone levels, follicle counts, and endometrial lining. Neither framework tells the whole story on its own, but held together, they often explain more than either does alone. How soon before IVF should I start acupuncture? Most patients begin one to three months before starting treatment, though we also work with patients who come to us mid-cycle or right before transfer.
How often do I need to receive acupuncture for fertility? We’re ideally seeing our fertility patients weekly to work with each part of the cycle, but we can customize a plan to your specific needs.
Do you coordinate with my fertility clinic? While we don’t provide in-clinic sessions, we are happy to coordinate with your team where needed.
Is this covered by insurance? Indigo Wellness Group is an out-of-network provider. We provide detailed superbills after each appointment that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, and many patients receive 50–80% back from their out-of-network benefits. We also encourage patients to use flexible spending and health savings accounts toward the cost of care.
Do you treat male factor fertility? Yes, we support men in fertility treatment as well as women.
