Deb Gottlieb
Licensed Massage Therapist
Specialties: Deb specializes in medical massage for injury, chronic pain, and long-held tension patterns. She integrates cupping, Acutonics vibrational sound therapy, spinal attunement, and nature-based energy work into her sessions.
Location: Work with Deb in Westport.
Deb has been practicing massage for fifteen years, and in that time she's developed the thing that's hardest to teach: a read. She can tell within a few minutes where a body is actually holding, which is rarely where it hurts. Medical massage is her foundation — targeted soft-tissue work for injuries, chronic pain, and the compensation patterns people build so slowly they stop noticing them.
But she rarely stops at muscle. Over the years Deb has trained in a set of modalities that let her work with the nervous system directly, and she moves between them fluidly depending on what shows up on the table. Cupping when tissue needs to be lifted rather than pressed. Tuning forks when the body needs to settle rather than be worked.
That last one is Acutonics: precision-calibrated, medical-grade tuning forks applied on or over acupuncture points. The forks are tuned to specific frequencies, and the vibration travels along the same meridian pathways acupuncture works with. It's far subtler than it sounds. Most clients describe a hum that keeps going after Deb lifts the fork away, and a kind of settling that arrives without effort. She offers Acutonics as a standalone session — a heart-centered session and a chakra balancing session — or as a way to close out bodywork.
For clients who want to go deeper, Deb also offers spinal attunement and transformational energy work. Spinal attunement treats the spine as the central pathway of the nervous system, blending Eastern energy medicine with Western anatomy to release what's stored along it. Her energy sessions pair gentle, supportive touch with real conversation; she shares what she picks up as she works, at whatever depth you're interested in. Both involve more dialogue than a standard massage appointment, and both are designed to move things that talking alone hasn't shifted.
